Multi-Choice
Preach The Word Worldwide Network is proud to be included in the MultiChoice Cable TV Distribution, ensuring its message reaches audiences across the entire MultiChoice footprint.
MultiChoice delivers its cable and satellite TV services—primarily through DStv (satellite) and GOtv (terrestrial digital TV)—to a wide swath of sub-Saharan Africa and select neighboring regions. DStv, which relies on satellite broadcasting, covers over 50 countries throughout sub-Saharan Africa. This includes the entirety of South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Angola, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Namibia, Malawi, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Senegal, Rwanda, Eswatini, Lesotho, and Mauritius, among others. The satellite technology allows DStv to reach both urban centers and rural areas as long as there is a clear view of the sky for the dish installation. The signal footprint extends across West, East, Central, and Southern Africa, and is engineered to deliver strong, reliable reception across both densely populated and remote locations.
GOtv, MultiChoice’s digital terrestrial TV offering, is available in select countries, focused primarily on major cities and towns. Countries with GOtv service include Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, and Rwanda. GOtv’s terrestrial signal is distributed via ground-based transmitters, making it most accessible in urban and peri-urban communities, though coverage is expanding as infrastructure grows.
In summary, MultiChoice’s cable and satellite coverage essentially spans the entire sub-Saharan African continent, with DStv providing continent-wide satellite coverage and GOtv offering city-focused digital terrestrial service in selected countries. North African and Middle Eastern regions are not part of MultiChoice’s primary coverage area, as the service is tailored for sub-Saharan markets. The combination of satellite and terrestrial technologies allows MultiChoice to serve households in both metropolitan hubs and rural communities, making it one of the most pervasive pay-TV networks on the continent
